Edited by Simon due to slander.

Alex, bad form mate, just because only a small change can be made on yours doesnt mean that its the same for other cars.

Didnt you think that the probe not being on the list in the first place would have given it away? In engine terms you have a pretty basic n/a lump with little potential. As Simon wbhperformance says obviously you are not fully aware of what an ECU Remap is all about, its remapping and using the potential that the engine has, its not bolting on new upgraded performance parts.

In response

I thank you for your kind remarks!

Just to set the record straight

If your car was a turbo which it is not then you would get more power. I think you are not clear of what an ECU Remap consists of especially on a naturally aspired car.

I didnt by chance get hold of the remapping kit. I am using Superchips programmes (http://www.superchips.co.uk) to perform my remaps and as a company thay have been around for over 27 years and get the best out of cars. They modify the car to safe limits and take longevity of the vehicle into consideration.

You would feel the difference with 8bhp as the car would be more responsive and better to drive. The modification would be consistantly available.

If any one has a car a especially a turbo and it is listed under the car search section on my website then get in touch.

Just had a look at the site, im pressed mine can be done, as it's the low spec of the model I have was reasonable cost.

I have a 90BHP Audi A4 TDi - I know it say 26 Extra BHP is this realistic power increase though? I have heard a lot of people saying tune TDi's but how can you know that it's going to improve the performance as well?

I know a lot of remapping is done on petrol cars but not heard any feedback on the TDi side.

Any thoughts?
Cheers

The tdi side is probably as big if not bigger than the petrol side at the moment, for example my fabia vrs diesel was 130bhp standard now with the turbo and other stuff it is 240bhp and 395lbft

Thanks for your enquiry.

An extra 26bhp would make a huge difference to the way your car drives. On this particular model the remap would be performed by a chip change instead of through the diagnostic port.

Try the boys at Jabba they may be able to get more than 26bhp

I am considering 'chipping' my '03 TDCi Mondeo 130, Is this a chip change or a 'port' job?

Is it reversible?

Do insurance companies have a fit when you tell them usually?

Thanks :)

mondeo

Firsly thanks for your enquiry

Your particular car is and OBD job so need for a chip change. The upgrade is invisible and wont be picked up by dealerships during services. As it is a ODB job it is easily reversed

Technically you should inform your insurer although if it is invisible how can they tell it has been done! There are a couple of insurance companies who specialise in insuring 'chipped' cars.
